At entrance, you will see a mirror cube on the right, this is a constrained decoy – on the client’s request a part of the room was allocated for a spacious full-scale walk-in closet. For this voluminous element not to conceal space, it was decorated with mirrors, which allows to visually retain the room dimensions, add light from the reflected window, and is pragmatic: a mirror is a must-be in a room with a walk-in closet.
A 900m2 (9,688ft2) exhibition room is organised in different zones that display the wide range of materials and complements of the brand. A 170m2 (1,830ft2) area is set aside for reproducing a dwelling using these materials: the Premium House
The apartments are located in a new residential complex on the 16th floor in the center of the small town of Perm (Russia, the Urals). The total area is 120m2 (1,292sf2). Basic room – living room, kitchen, living room, sitting area, bedroom, bathroom teen bathroom.
This five-floor residence is constructed within the fixed footprint of an existing three-story townhouse on a typically narrow infill Manhattan plot, sharing party walls with the adjacent houses. The clients asked for loft-like spaces, open and filled with light but also private – exactly the opposite of a standard NYC row house, with its street-side windows usually curtained or shuttered from the eyes of passers-by.
A big challenge was to make it all cozy and not sterile looking, so I used a lot of natural elements and finishes (wood, wool, woven natural fibers), as well as a few select family pieces.Overall I think we did achieve our goal. The house feels really clean and minimal, but still warm even during Chicago winters. My favorite part of our home is definitely the wood burning fireplace. When it’s cold out, we love to light a fire and sit in the living room reading, or drinking wine and playing Cards Against Humanity with our friends
